There are few things more fun than combining branding photography with a day surrounded by adorable pups — and that’s exactly what I got to do with Bark Suds, a local dog grooming business owned by the amazing Dabrina.
From the start, we knew this session was about more than just headshots. Bark Suds needed a library of fresh, on-brand images they could use everywhere — their website, social media, marketing campaigns, and beyond. Together, we created a plan that captured the heart of their business while showing off the professional-yet-playful vibe that their clients love.
Planning for Brand Cohesion
Before picking up the camera, we worked with Bark Suds’ brand colors and aesthetic to make sure every image would feel like a natural extension of their website and social media presence.
We coordinated outfits, props, and even background colors so that the final photos looked polished, consistent, and instantly recognizable as “Bark Suds.”
This prep work is a big part of what makes a branding session so powerful — when your photos are aligned with your brand, they don’t just look good, they work hard for you.
What We Captured
This wasn’t a one-note session. We built a complete image library that Bark Suds can pull from for months (or even years) to come, including:
Location + Atmosphere: Wide shots of the grooming space and the main client area to showcase the welcoming environment.
Owner Portraits: Casual, approachable headshots of Dabrina that highlight both her professionalism and her love for dogs.
Process in Action: Behind-the-scenes shots of dogs being groomed — from sudsy baths to final brush-outs — giving future clients a peek at the Bark Suds experience.
Finished Results: Adorable “after” portraits of freshly groomed pups, full of personality and fluff.
Social Media Content: Lots (and lots) of dog photos — playful, heart-melting moments perfect for Instagram, Facebook, and future marketing campaigns.
Why Branding Sessions Like This Matter
For small businesses like Bark Suds, having professional, cohesive imagery is a game-changer. Instead of relying on a handful of snapshots or stock photos, they now have a custom library of images that:
Reflect their true personality and brand values
Build trust with potential clients by showing the real people and real process behind the business
Provide an endless supply of content for social media and marketing
Keep their website and advertising consistent, polished, and professional
In short: one session = months of ready-to-use, on-brand visuals.
Final Thoughts
Working with Dabrina and the team at Bark Suds was such a joy. The session was filled with laughter, wagging tails, and more than a few cuddles in between shots.
If you’re a business owner wondering whether a branding session is worth it, ask Bark Suds — they now have a tailored collection of images that not only showcase their services, but also the heart behind their work.
Also, if you're looking for a dog groomer in Sugar Land- I can't recommend the team at Bark Suds enough! It was such a joy to see the relationships they had with all of the pups who walked through the door thanks to their membership program. Dabrina was able to tell me all about their personalities, quirks and which ones couldn't wait to be part of a photo op!
