There are newborn sessions that are calm and cozy…
And then there are sessions where every single image is so sweet that narrowing the gallery down becomes nearly impossible.
Adrianne’s Richmond newborn photography studio session was definitely the second kind.
She brought along her husband and their adorable three-year-old daughter, and we captured the full range of moments that make newborn sessions so special:
Snuggly family photos
Sweet sibling cuddles
Classic baby portraits
And beautiful mom-and-baby moments
The hardest part of the whole process?
Trying to decide which photos didn’t make the gallery.
(Which is honestly the best kind of problem.)
Cozy Family Moments with a Brand New Baby
One of my favorite things about studio newborn photography in Richmond, TX is creating images that feel warm, relaxed, and natural.
The goal isn’t stiff posing.
It’s capturing those moments where everyone leans in close and the baby becomes the center of the little family universe.
Adrianne and her husband were completely wrapped up in their brand new baby boy, and their daughter was incredibly curious about her new sibling.
Which meant lots of sweet moments where everyone gathered close for cuddles.
Those family photos are often the ones that end up framed on the wall for years.
The Sweetest Big Sister Snuggles

Three-year-olds are wonderfully unpredictable during newborn sessions.
Sometimes they want to run laps around the studio.
Sometimes they want snacks.
And sometimes… they turn into the sweetest little big siblings imaginable.
Adrianne’s daughter fell into that last category.

She was so gentle and proud, and we captured several adorable sibling moments where she snuggled right up beside her new baby brother.
Those images are especially meaningful because they capture the very beginning of their relationship.
Years from now, it’s going to be pretty incredible for them to look back and see the moment when their story together started.

Classic Newborn Portraits

Of course, every Richmond newborn photography session includes time for those classic baby portraits.
The peaceful sleepy poses. The tiny fingers. The curled-up newborn positions that only exist during those first few weeks of life.

These portraits highlight just how small and brand new babies are during this stage.
And they change so quickly.
That’s why newborn sessions are typically done during the first two weeks after birth, when babies are still naturally sleepy and comfortable in those classic poses.

Beautiful Mom & Baby Moments
Some of the most emotional images from newborn sessions are often mom and baby portraits.
There’s something incredibly powerful about documenting those early days when a baby still fits so perfectly in their mother’s arms.
Adrianne looked absolutely radiant holding her new little boy, and we captured several soft, connected portraits that really highlight that bond.
These images are often the ones mothers treasure the most.
Because they capture the feeling of those early days — the love, the closeness, and the quiet moments in between.

The Hardest Part: Choosing the Photos
I say this after almost every newborn session, but it was especially true this time:
Editing the gallery meant making some very difficult decisions.
Between the sibling snuggles, the family moments, and the classic baby portraits, there were just so many beautiful images to choose from.
Which is always the goal.
Because when families receive their gallery, I want them to feel like they’re reliving the whole experience — not just seeing a few posed images.

Planning Your Richmond TX Newborn Photography Session
If you're expecting and looking for newborn photography in Richmond, Sugar Land, or the greater Houston area, studio sessions are a wonderful way to capture:
Classic newborn portraits
Family photos with your new baby
Sibling moments
Beautiful parent-and-baby images
My goal is always to create a session that feels relaxed, joyful, and meaningful for your whole family.
And yes… sometimes that also means creating a gallery that’s almost impossible to narrow down.
But honestly?
That’s the best kind of newborn session.
